Thank you for your interest in visiting the Âé¶¹Éç, the nation's premier biomedical research facility. As a working campus with over 1600 clinical research projets in progress, we are pleased to host modest-sized non commercial educational groups.  NIH is a secure federal facility and requires photo identification for all tour groups and visitors.

Type of tour
Individual or small groups can learn about the history of the NIH Clinical Center, its operating budget, and the science that is practiced on the NIH Campus. A brief walking tour through the main areas of the hospital. Patient areas or laboratories are not permitted. Masks must be worn in the NIH Clinical Center during a scheduled tour.
Showcases the NIH supported scientists who have won the Nobel Prize in Science from 1939 through present day. Self-guided-tour or request a brief overview of the science and their personal stories behind these awards.
Group tours may not exceed 15 people. NIH does not have the resources to split a group of 30 into two groups of 15. Maximum of five people for an individual tour.
School groups with children under the age of 17 are not permitted to receive a Clinical Center tour. We do offer an NIH overview presentation for such groups.
Tours occur only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Tours must be scheduled at least 14 days in advance.

A tour request submission does not guarantee that your request will be granted. Tour requests are considered based on several factors including, but not limited to, available staff resources and the potential for conflicts with other campus events. To ensure a tour spot, we encourage you to submit your request as early as possible. Within three business days, you will be contacted by an NIH representative who will speak with you directly about the feasibility of your request.
